Santa Needs a Little Help this Year

‘Tis the season to volunteer and nothing’s better then good karma right before Christmas. Put a smile on stranger’s face this season by giving back – there’s lots of ways to help out, you can do anything from volunteering gift wrapping to dropping off a brand new toy.

Gift WrappingLast week I volunteered with Epilepsy Toronto’s gift wrapping program in the Eaton’s Center. It was really great to spend the morning chatting with fellow volunteers and customers who were glowing with Christmas joy. Thanks again to the fabulous team of volunteers I worked with on Tuesday! Volunteer gift wrapping is a great way to give back this season because it is so social – listening to people rave about the new gift they just bought for their cousin, brother, girlfriend, ect, is a great way to remember what the holidays are really all about – re-connecting and celebrating the people around you who make you laugh, and make you feel loved. Learn how you can volunteer for Epilepsy Toronto’s gift wrapping campaign this year here.

Help the homeless and volunteer with one of Yonge Street Mission’s many Christmas events such as decorating, organizing the food bank, or assisting with the toy and ornament sale. christmas snoopy

Cuddle up from the cold and be a volunteer kitten feeder at the Toronto Humane Society.

Or if you don’t have the time to donate a whole afternoon – simply drop off a new toy or a cheque at CP24/Chum’s Wish Warehouse to make a child’s Christmas.

Donate to the Toronto’s Star fabulous Santa Claus Fund and read heart-warming stories about how your donation changes lives.

There’s lots more great opportunities out there – so check them out and give the gift that can’t be returned, bought, or broken!
